Going green is the new black and its only befitting this New York Fashion Week bring us The Green Shows, ready to wear collections all designed by “Contemporary Ethical Designers.” It was like getting into a new nightspot to enter this presentation, such a long line! Before a jammed packed room, 8 apparel, 6 jewelry and 3 handbag designers presented everything from garments made from organic fabrics to jewelry designed from bicycle tires and old jacket linings. These environmentally conscious collections were eclectic yet trendy but Oh-so wearable! Perhaps someone can take my ugly Christmas sweaters and create something that I don’t mind being photographed in next holiday season. Just a thought!
