Havana Brown made her name by keeping the club circuit on the dance floor before signing a major record deal and touring the world. With more than 294 million streams and 3.2 million singles sold Brown is one of Australiaâs greatest musical exports. The Melbourne-born, LA-based artist has toured with the pop worldâs biggest â including Britney Spears, Rihanna, Beyonce, and the Pussycat Dolls â and scored big hits with her triple platinum track “We Run The Nightâ, double platinum âWarriorâ and âBig Bananaâ at a modest platinum.
On her consecutive Billboard dance hits, Brown says, âItâs still club music. Itâs always had a pop element to it and I always want to be able to play my music in the club,â she explains. âItâs sexy, itâs got that darkness to it, itâs thumping. I had a vision of having something a lot sexier than Iâve done in the past, which is exciting and liberating.â
On her latest fete âGlimpseâ she gets to work with someone who was on her dream list, frequent Kendrick Lamar collaborator Rich The Kid. It’s an exciting new phase for Brown as she propels herself further into her career as an artist branching out with major players in the industry.Â
She goes on to say, âWhen Iâm in the studio I like listening to music Iâm inspired by, and one of the tracks I was playing when we started writing was Rich The Kidâs âPlug Walkâ,â she explains. âWhen weâd gotten a lot of the song down, the producer I was working with sent it to Rich The Kid â and he was like, âThis is hot, I want to do this.â So he jumped on the track. It was amazing.”
With her talent and determination, we are just getting the beginning of what is yet to come from Havana.
âWhen I listen to music, I want it to make me feel like I can dream. Itâs not all materialistic; itâs just that one day you want to feel that good. Itâs the feeling of being in the moment with the artist,â she says.
