Shallows are the dynamic musical project of Dani Poppitt and Marshall Gallagher. The two are multi-talented songwriters and producers living and working in sunny Los Angeles. Together, their band effaces all the lines of music genres making their sound a robust alternative, pop, underground, mainstream, grunge and glitter, experience.
“Drive Away” is a song that evokes memories of youth and the burgeoning beginnings of adulthood. It’s a track that offers a refuge to the insecurities and anxiety of life giving you peaceful pop affirmation.
“This track is the closest thing we have to a ballad, the band says, “We borrowed a lot of chillwave and shoegaze elements for the instrumental, the whole thing is purely nostalgic. I hope it becomes the soundtrack to at least one teenager hitting the open road while giving his hometown the middle finger in the rear view.”
Our middle fingers are up and we are a little more certain about the future with this anthem and hope you are too. The band is currently working on their debut album.
