It’s easy to see on Camila Cabello’s Instagram that she was channeling Madonna and Marilyn Monroe at the iHeartAwards last month in March, so it was no surprise to see many things possibly pulled from former pop legends in Camila’s “Never Be The Same” tour. From her black lace outfit with fingerless gloves channeling an early Madonna, to songs like “She likes Control” which seemingly had the throwback vibes of early Janet Jackson’s “Control.”

The production value of Camila’s performance didn’t fall short of anything you would see from any other mega pop star — pristine, larger than life video of Camila showed interludes and sexy montages to help play and elaborate on the stories of the songs on her self-titled debut solo album, “Camila.”

Along with poetic voice over to help give the live performance a steady backbone, dancers performed all genres all the way from fedora-clad “Havana” hip hop number to contemporary lyrical dances — making the concert seem like a full blown production or episode of “So You Think You Can Dance?”

Overall, the “Never Be The Same Tour” was on par with any huge tour — Camila is likely set for a future of huge performance venues, and even bigger audiences.
