If you’re a fan of The Bird and The Bee, then you know how unmistakable their sound is. The dreamy, aloof voice of Inara George coupled with the innovative musicality of Greg Kurstin have brought us almost ten years’ worth of incredible albums. Always a proponent of experimentation, the pair asked singer-songwriter MNDR and producer Jesse Shatkin to remix their single,”We’re Coming To You,” premiering exclusively on LADYGUNN today. According to Inara, “It’s always so exciting to hear what someone else does with your song. And to have Jesse and MNDR remix our song is like heaven.”
And heaven is truly what the result is. On the album version, the song has a familiar 70s throwback vibe, but with MNDR and Shatkin’s touch, the track is given a beautiful transient, dancey vibe. MNDR gushes of the remix, “When The Bird And The Bee asked Jesse Shatkin and I if we wanted to remix a song off of their album, they had me at the breath they took to start that sentence.”
Shatkin adds, “I love The Bird and The Bee so much! So honored they let us get weird with their awesome song.”
