Songstress Arlene Zelina gained a viral a following from her flawless Youtube covers. After uploading her first video, Maroon 5’s “Moves Like Jagger”, her career skyrocketed with over 14 million views. It wasn’t long before she became the caught the eye of Jason Derulo and manager Frank Harris and became the first Aussie signee of their label “Future History.”
Arlene glistens in the spotlight taking kindly to photographs and attention to her fashion-forward style and her powerhouse vocals. With her latest track, “Dream Of Me” she shows us a different side of her music.
Arlene says, “I’m very excited about this one! It’s a slightly new direction for me. It’s a little more mature compared to the previous songs I have released. It’s just a more grown up version of me. The song dabbles in the pop/urban area with a few soulful undertones.”
It’s a sexy track with not so hidden undertones of embracing the more sultrier parts of life.
“I was hanging out with some of my best friends and we got into a discussion about being a single woman and what that means. We ended up getting into a whole conversation about self-exploration and the concept of love and lust – that sometimes it’s ok to not fall in love but instead indulge in the feeling of lust. That was what inspired the song. I really just wanted this to feel empowering to women, to have freedom of expression, to explore sexuality and imagination on their own terms, and to be confident and proud of who they are and who they want to be. And of course, to have fun! ”
