Premiering exclusively on LADYGUNN today, Megan has dropped a funky, ’90s R&B inspired remix of Michelle Obama’s—yes, the First Lady of the United States!—feminist anthem, “This Is For My Girls.” Originally recorded by powerhouse women in music including Zendaya, Missy Elliott, and Janelle Monae, Megan’s remix, produced by superstar Swedish producer RedTop, gives the track the groove treatment, resulting in a fresh club-worthy jam that services a good cause. “I love Michelle and I love everything the Peace Corps Let Girls Learn fund stands for,” the New York artist tells us. “The amount of young girls globally without access to education is frightening and I think this charity is a wonderful, very necessary thing. It’s really beautiful hearing such strong, inspirational, talented women collaborate together on ‘This Is For My Girls’ for such a great cause. It is our job as women to empower other women and make sure we are all given the opportunity to learn. It’s our basic human right.”
