PJs, pin stripes and below the knee pencil skirts were the equable elements of Timo Weiland’s Fall 2015 Womenswear show. The New York based design trio is known for their tailoring prowess and debonair aesthetic, which remains unfaltering in this collection. Among the opening looks was a burgundy and cream striated set under a shearling cuffed coat and a lengthy off the shoulder knit paired with slackened grey trousers. The luxurious textures of these openers gave the casual silhouettes an elevated feel.
Later in the lineup came blouses that tied at the waist and a slew of chunky knit sweaters stacked atop flirty miniskirts. The grunge sensibility was present in many of these pieces but muted by an incredible neatness. The closing looks brought more feminine fits, with fringe-trimmed tanks and an origami inspired dress that hugged at the hips.
The highlights of the show included a charcoal-dipped grey coat with a shearling collar, a structured striped crop top, and a bunch of exaggerated beanies in blue, black and variegated grey. While the show explored different aesthetics it maintained fluidity through the reoccurring pin stripe that became its centerpiece.
