THE GIRL IS BACK IN TOWN: Zia McCabe

Zia McCabe of The Dandy Warhols, who performs under the name DJ Rescue will be in NY spinning all weekend.  As a member of The Dandy Warhols, Zia has had the honor of working with some of the biggest pop culture icons, from Duran Duran to The Cure to the late David Bowie.  In 2016, she has further developed her craft as a DJ, tripling her tour schedule and taking offers from larger venues, which has landed her on the radar of such leading artists as Moby, Zedd, Hardwell and Paul Van Dyke.  She has transformed her role from a synth player who DJs, to an MC Synthing Stylist, sharpening her skills on the limestone of dedication.  Let me tell you, I saw Zia perform this past fall here in New York City for CMJ 2015, and I was very impressed with what she brought back then, before she rewired the DJ Rescue mainframe.  She is an inspiration to women everywhere, and I am truly excited to see this war machine in action.  To celebrate her personal heroes, and the magic that many of them have left behind, DJ Rescue will be creating a special set for her February 13th show based on the music that has inspired her the most.
When asked, McCabe said, “Quentin Tarantino’s soundtracks to Pulp Fiction andReservoir Dogs were big inspirations for me to start DJing.  And bars that were great except the terrible music.  I felt the world needed better sound vibe curators.”  Whether she is opening for a rock legend, or spinning for a random club in the middle of the Death Valley desert, Zia always brings a level of talent, experience, and spunk that is rarely found in entertainers.
