Achieving a balance of stunning femininity and compelling grunge, Tadashi Shoji’s fall collection reveals a new wave of tribal inspired evening-wear. Shoji’s daring combination of tattoo prints and edgy geometric cutouts marks a new direction for the red-carpet glam designer. The Arc at Moynihan Station was transformed into an urban primitive sanctuary for the presentation of Shoji’s effortless tribal beauty.
Tadashi Shoji takes the naked dress to new heights with tattoo-motif printed second-skin jumpsuits. Intricate tattoo designs are mirrored in one-zip sapphire adorned bodysuits while v-neck gowns dazzle with lace, velvet, sequins, and diamond keyhole backs. Embroidered tulle amplified the elegance of the collection, while the smoky eye look and tousled wavy hair retained the “modern primitive” look, as anticipated in the show notes. Complex tattoo-motifs and lace were most prominent on the runway.
