VIDEO PREMIERE: 'DEMONS' – SUSY SUN

Susy Sun’s got demons on her latest track; luckily, her curse is our blessing, as “Demons” is a warm, blissful slice of electro-pop that sounds much more heavenly than hellish.
The Seattle-based songstress premieres the lush, atmospheric music video for the single exclusively on LADYGUNN today. Produced by superstar R&B producer Jon Redwine (Zendaya, Tinashe), the hazy, piano-driven electroballad acts as a sonic cushion for Sun’s emotive, honeyed rasp — dark beats, smokey synths, and folksy vocals alike culminating on a powerful chorus that is both soothingly melodic and emotionally triumphant.
“I wrote ‘Demons’ about the insecurities that continuously creep up and try to consume me,” Sun reveals. “The song is a reminder to use that darkness as inspiration to create. It’s an anthem in a way, that it’s never too late to do what I want to do. It’s a very personal song and a message I hold near to my heart. The video is a collaboration between my Seattle crew — Brian Oh (videographer/photographer), Jessica Hu (dancer), and Bianca Yvonne (creative designer). The video captures a feeling more than anything: My expression is numb and haunting, whereas Jessica’s dancing is emotive and powerful. It really highlights the relationship between darkness and creation, which has always been my way of coping in life.”
