Conceive of a universe where 90s club-kid culture collides with 70s glam and then combusts, a million glittering sparks settling over a crowd entranced by a kickass dance track. This is the most remotely tangible way to describe what it is like to attend Light + Space, Ariana and the Rose’s immersive multimedia experience. When I last spoke to Ariana, she was gearing up to bring her celestial affair to New York, and it certainly did not disappoint. Its Brooklyn debut last year at House of Yes was more psychedelic hallucination than typical night out at a show in Bushwick, as spangled fans undulated with abandon on the dance floor, while the luminous Ariana literally took center stage. Part theater-in-the-round, part club scene, the experience was at once familiar and innovative, transporting us all to a different plane of consciousness. And a plane of glitter. Oh-so-much glitter.

Ariana has completely reimagined the concepts of concert and community, and no description will really do it justice—you just have to see it for yourself. And now you can. “I’m so excited to be bringing Light + Space back for our fall dates. We are doing our New York show on Oct 25th, as a Halloween edition at Public Arts (Public Hotel) and are partnering with Live Nation’s Ones to Watch to bring the show to LA on Nov 8th at the Union Club,” says Ariana. “Getting to build the community that this show brings together has shown me how important people having a space to set down the weight of their worlds for a moment is, now more than ever. I feel honored to get to create that place for people.”

In anticipation of the forthcoming Light + Space renaissance, today Ariana premieres “Lonely Star,” a new track that is sure to get her fans back on that dance floor. “The concept of this song really grew out of the light + space events. The shows have such a hopeful and inclusive energy while also being glitter filled and galactic, I wanted to capture all of that in a song. I love the lyric ‘Honey, you’re home, we’re not alone.’ It’s the feeling I want everyone to have when they listen to my music and when they come to my shows.”

A transformative movement has been ignited for music, art, and theater lovers who are looking for inclusion, interconnectedness, and a very memorable party. Ariana and the Rose lit the match.
