THE RISE OF SEAN FORD

SEAN FORD

The rise of Sean Ford can be interpreted both figurately and literally speaking. Hailing from Little Rock, Arkansas, he’s every bit as sun-kissed and hard-bodied as a fantasy can take. He’s got a mysterious boyish charm to him that takes the best parts of Middle America and holds it up to a magnifying glass exposing more than just his subtle features and tight little butt. Sean Ford is the lip bite and wink from the sexy guy across the bar. You do a double-take and then he is gone, while you are left thinking about those 2 seconds for the rest of your life.

Fashion and sex are like kissing cousins. Both industries tiptoe on the lines escaping mundane existence. The extravagant opulence that tugs on the entrails of the sensitive parts, the parts that get you excited and wanting more. Sean has been able to navigate both worlds becoming a muse in the process. As a studio player at  CockyBoys, he brings an art-house noir sex-positive approach to the genre of porn.

Sean started in showbiz on a dare. He moved from Arkansas to Los Angeles with nothing but a 2006 Honda Accord. ” I like keeping to myself so a lot of this doesn’t come naturally, but it’s forced me to learn and grow. I’m grateful for it.” Sean says of the adventure.

I talk to Sean about solitude and self-care while imagining a nation of people enjoying his smoldering film under the covers.

How are you doing with all this pandemic stuff right now?

I am hovering somewhere in a twilight zone. I naturally enjoy solitude, so that aspect hasn’t caused me much distress; however, with the reports of suffering and death and people losing their livelihoods, there is a heavy psychic toll. I’m trying to direct this anxiety toward creative and learning pursuits and adding my voice to the chorus demanding a better health care system, housing, and social programs in the United States in response to this crisis.

Are you a political person? What are some of your passions?

Everyone is political, whether they choose to speak or be silent.

What has been the best thing that has happened to you in your life/ career?

The moment I learned that I don’t have to pretend to be someone I’m not. It’s like learning how to fly.

What do you think are qualities that everyone needs for work and in life?

I don’t consider myself an expert on work or life, much less balancing both. I still have so much to learn. Two things I’ve learned so far are to be open-minded and to have no expectations, which are actually kind of the same thing.

What have been some of the biggest transitions in your life?

I’m in a constant state of transition. It’s inspiring and exhausting.

What was it like growing up in Little Rock Arkansas? Were there Bill Clinton memorabilia all around?

They plaster the name ‘Clinton’ on just about everything except stop signs. Football and country music were big. I used to enjoy football, but not anymore, and I learned to love country music and still do. I miss the mountains and rivers.

What was the most surprising thing for you when you moved to NYC?

We have a stereotype in the south about New Yorkers and their less-than-warm disposition. It’s totally unfounded. I love New Yorkers.

What is your favorite movie of all time?

My favorite movie *today* is Gustav Machatý’s ‘EXTASE’ starring Hedy Lamarr. Ask me tomorrow and the answer will be different.

Growing up what did you want to do? Now, what do you want to do?

I wanted to be a rock star. I still want to be a rock star.

What do your family and friends think of your success?

They show me nothing but love and support.

Where is the weirdest place you were ever recognized?

Nothing is “weird” to me anymore. I was recognized in the bathroom at Tompkins Square Park. I didn’t stay to chat.

Do you use dating apps?

Yes, but not for “dating.”

How do you self care?

Drugs and alcohol. Just kidding!

When is the first time you felt like you LOVED being in front of the camera?

The moment I realized the absurdity and drollery of it.

Do you ever get nervous? What makes you nervous?

Yes. Being interviewed.

What do you tell yourself when you are feeling insecure or sad or not on top?

I refocus on gratitude for my circumstances.

Who are some of your role models?

Anyone who works on the street: performers, peddlers, prostitutes, pickpockets. That’s society boiled down to its essence.

If you were president for a week, what are some laws that would immediately go in effect?

1. Abolish private property, police, military

2. Seize the means of production

3. Eat the rich

You have the best stare. Give us some tips on posing?

I come up with little stories in my head, little secrets that I keep to myself. That’s mostly so I don’t get bored, but it also creates magic.

What are your biggest turn-ons?

I’m turned on by very smart people and very dumb people. Those are the most interesting kinds of people.
