Bodine is LADYGUNN’s rising star and all-around It-Girlie, a force of nature blending her rich heritage with a vision entirely her own. With a sound she describes as “smokey fire with a scent of sweet jasmine,” Bodine is carving out a space that’s as hypnotic as it is undeniable. In this exclusive, she opens up about the sounds that shaped her, the power of visuals, and the importance of building a strong team. As she gears up for the release of her latest single, TEKE, her journey is a testament to fierce self-belief, creative passion, and the magic that happens when an artist dares to be unapologetically themselves.
Puerto Rico is a heartbeat in so many global movements. How has growing up there shaped the way you see and create?
I feel so lucky that I grew up in PR surrounded by the arts. Theatre, music, and dance, I had the opportunity to explore them all. Growing up listening to reggaeton, salsa, bachata, boleros, merengue, bomba y plena – all these incredibly rich flavors of music elevated my mind as a child. I could say they are the blueprints to what I’ve been creating.
What does being an It-Girl mean to you?
I’m humbled and grateful to be considered an it-girl! Being considered an it-girl encourages me to embrace my individuality, express my uniqueness, and continue to grow.
If you had to define your sound with a scent, what would it be?
I would say smokey fire with a scent of sweet jasmine.

What’s your process when conceptualizing a music video or a shoot?
I love creating visuals, and my focus is on the person behind the camera. I concentrate on their strengths, whether it’s natural lighting, studio lighting, night shoots, day shoots, or black and white shots, and then I build a concept around what they execute best. Little by little and as we create more, I aim to challenge them with new concepts.
What message do you hope to send to young girls who see you owning your space in music?
Build and create your own team. Without it, you’re not in the game. It doesn’t matter if you’re the most talented person in the world; success is all about the strength of your team.
Who is your ultimate Shero?
Right now, I dare to say I’m proud of myself. This past year has been incredibly challenging, and the fact that I haven’t given up and am still standing is something to be proud of. I want to give myself some credit.
What do you want people to feel when they press play on your songs?
I want them to feel elevated, horny, inspired, sexy, perra, and fearless.
What’s next for you? Any projects, sounds, or surprises we should be looking out for?
I’m excited to be dropping my new single called “TEKE”
