With so much emphasis placed on fast-fashion during the summer months, we know how important it is to support designers that are trying to build their business from the ground-up. For us, with most of the Ladygunn team based in the U.S., we love the idea of buying from designers that have built their brands domestically. And because we have three full months of sweaty bliss ahead of us, we wanted to show you all the U.S. brands we’ll be spending our summer cash on.
SIWY:
Siwy denim is a Los Angeles based brand that is completely made and manufactured right in LA. Their styles range from perfectly fitting skinny jeans and shorts to bell bottoms.
LADYGUNN’s pick: Cropped flares.
OV US NYC:
OV US NYC puts it best when they describe themselves as approachable leatherwear. This Brooklyn based handmade jewelry company sells everything from leather body chains, to delicate chokers and they’re perfect to add something to just about any outfit.
LADYGUNN’s pick: The double wrap in leopard print.
KENT STENSON:
This handbag brand is based in Rhode Island and they are making bags cool again one fluorescent chain at a time. Their philosophy is that “a great handbag can engage people in the same way as art,” and with what they’re selling we have to agree.
LADYGUNN’S pick: Fluorescent Mermaid Bag with Chains.
BUMBLE AND BUMBLE:
While you’ve definitely heard of Bumble and Bumble, there’s a reason why they fit on this list. First, the brand was started with one studio in NYC and still keeps all of their creative process in house. Second, the new BBCurl line is everything your humid summer hearts could ever need.
LADYGUNN’s pick: BB Curl Anti Humidity Gel-Oil
CLEARWEATHER BRAND:
Clearweather brand sneakers aren’t only amazing because they’re independently owned by brothers Josh and Brandon Brubaker, they’re also unisex! The signature style is a high-top with fringe but they have plenty of classic styles that are as comfortable as they are cool.
LADYGUNN’s pick: Classic white and navy hightops
Glossier:
Within one year after launch, the skin care line, Glossier, has built a cult following of millennials like no other brand we’ve ever seen. Based in New York City, owner Emily Weiss wanted to create a line of skin care products and makeup that enhanced natural beauty instead of covering it. Aside from the amazing product offerings, their #glossierpink makeup bag that comes with every order is one of the most exciting parts of the delivery.
LADYGUNN’s pick: Generation G lipstick in Crush
