西洋化 Seiyō-ka

This editorial is based on the blazer-dress that the model is wearing. The piece is from the collection 西洋化 /Seiyō-ka/. A collection that talks about the post-war Japanese society’s duality of cultural preservation of the country and the latest westernization due to capitalism and globalization. Creating a piece that is a mix of the two most representative pieces in western and Japanese culture, a suit and a kimono. Seiyō-ka takes as a reference the Japanese artistic movement Superflat created by Takashi Murakami and the anime aesthetic to create the patterns.
