Lacoste can do no wrong. The empire of prep could send a baby blue sweatsuit down the runway with a sumptuous fur coat casually tossed atop and the fashion world would revel in the ingenuity of Gym Wear Luxe.
Wait; that actually happened. And obviously, it was phenomenally chic. Sportswear as daywear has been ubiquitous for several seasons now, butLacoste’s Fall collection argued the case: why stop at daywear? A tailored men’ssuit was paired with a striped athletic headband, and was somehow instantly elevated to an intangible level of dapper. Asymmetrical tennis dresses evoked less of a court-ready aesthetic and more of a cocktail-ready one.
If we hadn’t been convinced before, Lacoste’s Fall collection has us thinking athleisure for the win.
