CYNISTER RELEASES RUGGED YET ANGELIC ANTHEM, ‘HELL AND BACK’

We’re not sure if she’s a good or a bad witch, but the lead singer from Cynister is the unapologetic type of bad ass who’s got us completely spellbound. Rare and gripping, the Los Angeles trio just released their fourth single today, ‘Hell And Back’, that serves dark pop on a hard rock platter.

This modern meets metal mood falls in line with the rest of their repertoire, but it’s perhaps the most visual, angsty song to date. Lead singer Cynnie Jane starts off the song with a gently sinister voice, both rugged and angelic at the same time. Her voice sounds trained yet triumphantly expressive, as if it truly had been to Hell and back.

“At the time we wrote this song, all of us in the band were struggling with personal issues.” The band comments, hoping their song reaches others in an inspiring way. “We wrote “Hell and Back” as a reminder to ourselves that we can overcome anything in life, no matter how daunting it may seem.”

True to Cynister’s sound, ‘Hell and Back’ weaves in contemporary production, placing them in a very unique lane on the musical map. The dichotomy between saintly melodies and heavy distortion makes their brand enrapturing, with lyrical content that is made for the masses. Empowering truths about hardship coupled with anthemic drums catch the listeners in a connective, strengthening way. Whether they mean to or not, they’re carving out a path for heavy rock in the pop world and we’ll be behind them the whole way.
