Singer/songwriter and actress Kate Nash made a pit stop in Atlanta at the Buckhead Theatre April 28 with her full band to showcase her new album âYesterday is Forever.â
Nashâs all-girl band promoted the album by donning all white jeans and tee shirts. The bandâs drummer, Alicia Warrington (previously a drummer for Kelly Osbourne, Selena Gomez, Hannah Montana, En Vogue and various other artists), guitarist Linda Buratto, and bassist Emma Harvey-Hughes are talented musicians in their own right.
Rocking a lacey black bodysuit, Kate traveled the stage with an energetic performance without skipping a beat. Nashâs unapologetic lyrics about relationships and mental health accompanied by an upbeat tempo was reminiscent of the early 2000âs riot grrrl power movement.
Throughout the show, she spoke candidly of her own personal struggles after being dropped by her record label â this was after her self-released 2013 album âGirl Talk.â This lead into an unforgettable acoustic rendition of her hit song from that album âSister.â
There was no denying that Kate Nash is now back with a vengeance, confidently owning the stage with her brand-new album, âYesterday Was Forever.â
Nash revved up her small group of loyal followers, getting up close and personal with her fans through an 18-song set. She serenaded the audience with older crowd favorites like âDickheadâ and âMerry Happyâ from her 2007 album, âMade of Bricks.â At one point, she cozied up close enough to the crowd, that you could touch the fuzzy, red pom-poms adorned on her low pigtails.
Not only was the show extremely high energy but the band seemed like they were having the time of their lives.  In getting the fans involved, it was like a being at party with one of their heroes.  Nash is one of those underrated artists that could sell out high volume venues.
Kate Nashâs 2018 album âYesterday Was Foreverâ is out now. She also has a starring role on the Netflix hit show Glow.   For more information..
