On the weekend of November 6 & 7, Head In The Clouds Festival returned to its home stages located at the infamous Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, CA. Spearheaded by Sean Miyashiro and Brian Imanuel Soewarno, who performs under the moniker Rich Brian – the festival proves another successful year of providing an elevated platform that showcases the diverse and globally exploding talent of Asian and Asian American talent.
Proving their expertise in the musical curation of the their respective fan base and audience, this years lineup highlighted one of their best and most diverse lineups to date. With a little something for everyone, the acts ranged from K-Pop to Hip Hop, Indie to Electronic. And that’s not where it ended. A part of the magic lays in their careful curation of an overall experience that comes complete with exhibits on the history of the festival and performers and an all too amazing mini creation of famed so-cal food function 626 Night Market, which cleverly is incorporated on the grounds as 88 Night Markets.
Check out the photos below to view a few of the weekends highlights: From co-founder Rich Brian‘s beat and flow heavy set, Joji‘s fun, upbeat and at times heart-wrenching croons, Saweetie‘s Icy Girl performance complete with jewelry tossed to fans in the crowd, CL‘s electric and dance fueled performance, The Linda Linda‘s highly anticipated punk rock set, indie phenom Japanese Breakfast‘s incredibly dynamic set and many many more.
88 Rising’s production and dedication to highlighting the best came through and the festival is to remain on our to watch list for years to come.
