TRACK PREMIERE: DES ROCS “LET ME LIVE, LET ME DIE”

The problem with rock music today is that when people hear the term “rock,” they automatically assume the music is “old” and “not hip.” Unfortunately, rock music has gotten a bad wrap — but fortunately for us, the new face of rock is here to change the perception. Enter: Des Rocs, who just dropped the third single from his new project, “Let Me Live, Let Me Die.”
Des Rocs, aka Danny Rocco, is probably best known as one half of synth-rock duo Secret Weapons who toured with Panic! At the Disco, Fall Out Boy, Weezer and more over the past few years. His new solo project explores a side of Danny that is more strictly rock — an amazing throwback and homage to Freddie Mercury and the fuzz boxy rock legends before him. As the follow up from “HVY MTL DRMR” and “Used to the Darkness,” the new tune is anthemic and flamboyant all at once.

Rocco says of the song, “Let Me Live / Let Me Die is a rattlesnake of a record that embodies everything Des Rocs stands for. I wrote it at 4am after a bizarre night out, and it all just flowed out in a half hour — I ended up keeping the vocals and guitar takes from that night. It’s about frustration and freedom, about running against the grain.”
Rocco adds, “All these records will be part of the EP I’m building to in the Fall.” Take a listen to the new track here.
