We like where Zoe Silverman is going with this. “This” is her breakout solo act from ASTR. The band once housed producer and musician Adam Pallin, taking the two into unto a wonder wheel ride of buzzy, festival championed, chart-climbing, fan obsessed, life of what it takes to be an indie pop stars.
Silverman’s rebirth is a sophisticated stripped down version of herself. In the new ASTR, Zoe’s voice takes center stage, creating songs that are sung along to over and over.
Premiering today, the lyric video for “Rituals” is a lo-fi, experimental, performance art, pop that gives us a wonderful example what is to come. Her movement of body is especially meaningful in this work. It’s a gorgeous example of how to be vulnerable and effective in your art.
Zoe says, “The inspiration for the lyric video is burning down archetypes that have been handed down unconsciously. The piece is self-explorative through movement and evaluates where we’re heading and what we want to hand down.”
